Bacteriological assessment and multiplex-PCR test for the detection of meat adulteration of different animal species

Meat samples of various animal species have been obtained from Giza Governorate's butcher shops, common retail markets, veterinary faculties, Zoo and hospitals. Physical, bacteriological, molecular analysis was carried out on the meat samples. Physical examination showed that typical untypical differed. Bacteriological highest TCC found in horse while least goat meat. The total count S. aureus donkey dog whilst pork As for E.coli, buffalo mutton were lowest. Listeria monocytogenes Salmonella Species horse, donkey, rat but zero other examined. Multiplex-PCR targeting partial-length cytochrome b (cyt b) gene mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) used discovery adulteration beef with chicken, pork, dog, cat tissue. It high specificity differentiating six study points importance taking serious steps to control may lead transmission severe foodborne diseases more studies need be implemented apply new easy detection protocols.
